A new gardening year |
Whilst I’m waiting to plant them I like to put in a catch crop of lettuce usually Little Gem and Lollo Rosso They seem to do really well in the greenhouse and quick to mature. By the time they are nearly finished it’s time to Plant the Tomatoes (Sungold our favourite, new ones, 100s and 1000s, a small grape sized tomato to plant out in hanging baskets. Should be interesting.Moneymaker, and Alicante). Iv’e also sown some new ones, 100s and 1000s, a small grape sized tomato to plant out in hanging baskets. Should be interesting. |

I reckon I’m a month behind already due to the atrocious weather, it’s now Easter weekend and it’s still to wet to work. But I’m going to have to bite the bullet and make a start, I’ve usually got everything sown , planted and prepared by now. |

Start in the Greenhouse |

However the weather as enabled me to get ahead in the greenhouse. The greenhouse (you could always do with a bigger one at this time of year) is rapidly filling up with seedlings and plants and I have prepared the ground for me tomatoes and cucumbers. |

Catching Up |

To try and make up time for the bad weather I have sown me first lot of Beetroot ( Boltardy) in trays, putting two seed clusters per cell and then plant them out when seedlings be big enough and the ground a bit drier. I know this method works with beetroot |
forecast takes a change for the better. What to do now
So - Happy Gardening
